Practicum in Education and Training
Practicum in Education and Training is a field-based internship that provides students background knowledge of child and adolescent development principles as well as principles of effective teaching and training practices. Students in the course work under the joint direction and supervision of both a teacher with knowledge of early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence education and exemplary educators in direct instructional roles with elementary-, middle school-, and high school-aged students.
This binder does not contain all lesson plans for this course. This content can be used with any textbook or instructional materials. If locally adapted, make sure all TEKS are covered.

Practicum in Education and Training course scope and sequence within the Education and Training Career Cluster® summarizes the content to be taught, and one possible order for teaching the units of instruction. A brief description of each unit and the corresponding TEKS are included. This scope and sequence may be adapted or adopted by the local education agency.

Programs of Study: Education and TrainingBased on the House Bill 5 Foundation High School Program, the Program of Studies within the Education and Training Career Cluster provide helpful information, including the core courses and career-related electives in high school that will help prepare students for their career goals. Practicum Course Learning PlanThe Practicum in Education and Training Course Learning Plan documents the relationship between the components of the course curriculum. The CLP helps educators to identify opportunities for integration among disciplines, provides a review of the assessments, and identifies the daily student learning objectives and outcomes. The CLP is mapped to the unit plans created for this course and any lesson plans aligned with those unit plans.
